WiFi Security Tips For Users

1. Change the default Administrator Passwords and Username
2. Turn on WPA/WPA2 Encryption with a complex password which is not in dictionary and having combination of letters, numbers and some special charecters.
3. Turn off the WPS feature of your router.
4. Change the default SSID ( Your WiFi name ) to some other name.
5. Enable MAC address filtering and allow only MAC address of your home devices.
6. Disable SSID broadcast. ( This makes your Wi-Fi invisible to others )
7. Do not Auto-connect to Open WiFi networks sice data sent through it can be easily captured by a malacious user.
8. Enable firewall on computer and the router. This adds security to your network.
9. Position the Router/ WiFi Device in a safe point , so that you
get Wifi indoors and Your WiFi doesnt leak outside your house.
10. Turn off your router/WiFi device when not in use. This reduces your chance of getting attacked.
